The Dolly Parton Museum Campaign— This project was assigned as a semester-long project for my entertainment marketing class at Belmont University.

We were asked to create a campaign focusing on four activations to create interest around Dolly Parton’s newest venture; Dolly Parton’s Life of Many Colors Museum and the SongTeller Hotel. We worked with the guidelines and media kits that Dolly’s team provided us and at the end of the project, presented to four of her team members.

My Role: Integrated Marketing Communications and Project Administrator.

Takeaways:

  • Look deeper. Five small ideas easily can become a great ‘Frankenstein’ idea. Keep pushing for something great and take what you need to from

  • Once you finalize? Overanalyze. Dr. Rush, our professor, encouraged us to consider everything when it came to creating these activations; What do we want the main takeaway to be? Who would we need to talk to to make this happen? Cost and timelines?

  • Organization is the baseline. Working in a bigger group, we had 3 main documents we worked on. Each document had personalized tabs for each member, each team division, meeting minutes, and class announcements and information provided by Dolly’s team.
